Our on arrival training

EVS is an amazing opportunity for many reasons, but one of the greatest is getting to know nice people not only from your hosting country, but also from many other countries. This is one of the main aims of the EVS trainings.

During our on arrival training which took place from November 18 to 22 in Terchová, we met many EVS volunteers involved in projects taking place in Slovakia coming from Germany, France, Denmark, Georgia, Austria, Ukraine, Spain, Italy, Serbia, Russia and Slovenia.

In the four fantastic days we spent together, we exchanged our experiences about our projects and about Slovakia, we learnt more about our rights and responsabilities as EVS volunteers, we developped new ideas for our projects and we created a network of new friends.

My favourite activity was acting: every group was asked by the facilitators to prepare a short show in Slovak of a given genre and set in a given situation. As volunteers don’t lack creativity, initiative and sense of humor, the result was really a lot of fun 🙂

During the training we also had the opportunity to know more about our wonderful hosting country, to explore the beauties of Terchová and of the surrounding area and to interact with the locals.

Of course, we also enjoyed the non official part of the training 🙂 We danced, sung, played games shared the best and the worst of our countries and laughed a lot.

Now we are back to our projects: more motivated than ever and looking forward to preparing new activities!
